Activities

Inbiomed is structured in two main activities:

Scientific activities are focused in the basic research of stem cell biology, both adult and embryonic/pluripotent (iPSCs), and its application in three programs centered around a major health problem: Cardiovascular Disease, Parkinson's Disease and Cancer, all with a strong translational orientation.
Technology development area délas with the translation to the market of the research results. Inbiomed has created the laboratories Inbiobank and Inbiopharma in white room format operating under the standard ISO 9001:2008. This area is articulated as three units with high technological content:
- Inbiobank: adult stem cell bank for research use, node of the Banco Nacional de Lineas Celulares.
- Inbiopharma: cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing laboratory for cell based medicines that earned the certification as pharmaceutical laboratory by the Spanish Medicine Agency for production of investigational medicines in August 2006 (#4206-E). This unit is available for custom service operation to interested biotech companies or institutions.
- Contract research: oriented to giving top class research in stem cell/cell therapy area to biotech/pharmaceutical industry, academy and research centers.

Goals

All scientific and technological activities come toghether to achieve the strategic goals of Inbiomed:

Identification, characterization and culturing of stem cells.
Genomics, proteomics and gene silencing in stem cells.
Product developement and therapeutics in cell therapy.
Generation of iPSCs for disease modeling and drug screening.
